Nachos! A perfect snack to have while watching television. Or to serve as a starter at your dinner party. It is very easy to make, especially if you have ready made nachos at your disposal.
I used fried samosa strips as nacho chips. You can use Doritos or any other nacho chips.
Here is the recipe 🙂
Total cooking time – 30 minutes
Serves – 2-3
Doritos chips or Samosa strips cut into triangles and fried till crisp – as needed
For sour cream:
Cream – 200 mls
Lemon juice – of two lemons
Salt – as per taste
Tomatoes – 5 medium sized
Onion – one small, finely chopped
Capsicum – half, small sized. Chopped
Oil – 1 tbsp
Vinegar – 1 tbsp
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
Salt – as per your taste
Crushed red chili – 1 tsp
Dried oregano – 1/2 tsp
Olives – as needed
Jalapenos – as needed
Cheese – as needed
For sour cream:
In a bowl mix the cream, lemon juice, and salt. Beat well till combined. Sour cream is ready.
Blanch 4 out of the five tomatoes. Peel off the skins and blend them. Set aside.
In a sauce pan, heat oil and add onions and capsicum. Cook them till onions turn translucent. Next add in the blended tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, black pepper, crushed red chilies. Let it cook for a minute.
Deseed and chop the leftover tomato. Mix it in the sauce pan. Cook it for another minute. Season the salsa with salt and oregano. Salsa is ready. Let it cool before using it to assemble the Nachos.
In a serving dish lay out the Doritos or the fried samosa strips. Top the nachos with salsa, and sour cream. Lastly add all the toppings over it. Nachos are ready to be served. 😀
